getting the right controler?
I have 2003 DS IQ Club Car. I would like to know if I replace my bad control which is a 1510-5201 with another one will I need to have it programed. If so how is that done and where do I get the code. Or is it easier to buy a used one that is already programed. Any thoughts on staying with the same 250 amp controler or going larger. Thanks

Re: getting the right controler?
1st you need to tell us how the cart will be used and if you want speed VS. torque or vice versa or both and will you be modifing the cart at all.....that all plays in what controller you want..............................

Re: getting the right controler?
The cart is used mainly in the back yard. I have done some utility work with it like pulling a small trailer etc. We installed head lights, turn signals and a horn just recently, so we do run them up and down the streets sometimes. For now until my kids are older the standard controler should be fine as they dont need to be going 19mph in the backyard. Thank you for any help you can provide.

Re: getting the right controler?
I would recommend getting an alltrax controller to replace that. The only type they offer for IQ cars is a programmable (which is pre-programmed for performance.) .
It usually brings the speed up near 25 mph. If you want the speed lower you can hook the controller up to a computer and lower the top speed on a 1 to 100 % scale. Then the real advantage is on a new controller it is actually cheaper than an oem replacement that doesn't perform as well. |
