Battery Condition

Just thought I would let you see the condition of my Batteries. I have 2 Trojan T605's and 4 U.S. P2200's. I thought they were Procraft but that was the Distributor.
I charged the Cart two days ago and have only run it for about 20 minutes or 2 miles. It has been sitting in the garage the rest of the time.

Trojan T605 all cells above 1.3
Trojan T605 nbr 1 cell 1.275, nbr 2 cell 1.150, nbr 3 cell above 1.3
All of the P2200 batts are above 1.3.

How much will the one bad cell on the nbr 2 Trojan affect the performance?

well one bad cell sometimes will bring the cart to a stop but most of the time its under load when it effects cart........give the cart a complete charge than let sit 1/2 hour to disapate surface charge........than check battery voltage for instance your 6 volt battery if its a good battery should read almost 7 volts more like 6.7 volts or so........if you have battery readings after a full charge of say 6.1 or 6.2 thats not good........write your voltage #,s down and post them , than load test your batteries to see how they hold a load and post those #,s as for your hydrometer readings each cell should read just about the same so if your getting say 1 .50 specfic gravity and the cell next to it or any other cell that might read 1.75 well thats not good either those #,s should be just about the same in a perfect world...........if your uncertain and right now you have a set of mis-matched batts in there i would start right there........i know its not cheap but if you replace them and break them in right and do the proper maintence you,ll get your dollars worth and than some out of them.......................post your voltage #,s before and after load testing them............................................

the easiest way is with a load tester but you can do it with your volt meter, you,ll need to improvise......................................... ...........

Is there a sticky on "How to break in" new bats?
To load test using a V meter, if I use clips for the leads, check the volts with ign off, then turn it on and go WOT, while checking the Volts, is that what you mean by improvising a load test?

If your batteries all hit 6.4v each you should be OK. If you have a bad cell it will show up as you load them either through driving up an incline with a VM attached or with a load tester.
Generally batteries should be all the same brand and type but since yours are mixed you may have mixed results by overcharging all of the batteries trying to get 1 bad cell to come up to a charged level. This is a good way to destroy the complete battery pack if one cell is bad.

The after charge voltages are; 6.36,5.9,6.34,6.42,6.42,6.41..
Looks like that nbr 2 bat with the bad cell will need to be replaced right away or else maybe get some of that "snake oil" I've seen mentioned here.
I sure don't have the $$ to buy new.

Will try a "load" test later today (Dr first)

Nice find I'll be doing this exact thing in a week on my cart that is said to have horrible run time....I've got my new set of batteries ordered, but yes they are spendy, but like others have stated here, a whole set will be better at once if at all possible...A bad one is like cancer, eating one battery at a time until you get a 'set' and maintain then as a set. Hope for the best, and let us know how it goes....Oh yeah, Im watchin for your load results too...learning all I can here

I understand not everyone has a spare $600 laying around to put new batteries in every time they have 1 bad battery. It's best to replace all; if not, try to replace that #2 battery with one that is similar in age, type and charged voltage. All should work well after that.
Load test will likely only reveal the #2 battery is shot.

OK, now that the golf pro has given me two very good T105's,where do I start to change these batteries?, remove ground/pos first?
