What is Regen
With a GPS I got up to 20 mph downhill. When does regen do something?
I thought it was supposed to slow the cart down, but at what speed? I have a 2005 Club Car (DS IQ). |

Re: What is Regen
The regenitive braking should have kicked in depending on how the controller is set. The IQ carts allow you to set the amount of braking or eliminate it completely. If you have a local Club Car dealer, call them and ask if they have the IQDM-P which is the program and diagnostic tool for the IQ carts. They will not sell you one, but a dealer should have one or be able to obtain one.

Re: What is Regen
the regen braking should occur from 11mph and up so if you release the go pedal it will slow itself down till about 10-11mph. You barely notice it at 11mph.
Yours could be turned off if it doesn't do it. |

Re: What is Regen
I'd find a buddy with Regen turned on and see what you think before changing your cart to Regen on, if it's turned off now.

Re: What is Regen
I believe it is also supposed to keep the cart from going over 20mph this would be more if you have larger tires.

When I had regen, (before the PQ motor,) I could go up to 21.3 mph when it was on Speed Code 4, (19.6 + 22" tires.) It felt like I was constantly hitting a head wind that would prevent any freewheeling. What a difference when it was totally off... would never go back to it! |

Re: What is Regen
Real fast if need be once the brakes are applied. A couple of times we had to stop real quick when another cart pulled out in front of us from a Loop, (slight downhill,) and when a car turned in front of us, both at Ft. Wilderness a couple of weeks ago. Not a problem in either case. We squealed the rear tires on the car turning in front of us but still stopped well. Normal stops are a breeze. |
