Problem with Reverse
My '87 Club Car has developed a problem in that it will not move in reverse, forward movement seems fine.
So far we have cleaned the f/r switch and have measured the voltage at the solenoid as 36V in forward and 18V, with reversed polarity, when in reverse. We have jumped the contacts on the solenoid with no success at moving in reverse. The only way we have been able get rearward movement was to run 24V to the reverse instead of the normal 18V. The cart will move however it does seem as fast as before the problem developed in reverse. My assumption is that the problem is with the internals of the motor. Does anybody have any suggestions?
