Mech/Elec Differences in DS Models
The following, copied from the sticky interpreting S/N's, lists 5 DS model Carts. A,AA,AB,AC and HA. What are the differences in the Mech/Elec Systems and Suspensions, not Body Style or number of seats. For example, I have a HA, what is the difference between its solid state system and the AB 36 Volt, if any?

Re: Mech/Elec Differences in DS Models
None of the 36v had solid state speed control. They used a series of solenoids and later resistor coils to regulate amperage to the motor.

Are you saying that the HA is not Solid State?

Thing of it is, it looks just like a Regular Club Car. Just trying to figure out the differences. Dick |

Re: Mech/Elec Differences in DS Models
Hey Dick,
All of the DS's look like regular Club Cars!!! The only real way you'll be able to find out, is to either look up (underneath) above the rear axle, or the access panel to see if you have coils (resistors) or a controller! (I'm guessing again... ) Your cart may have been designed for a specific use in flammable areas, where resistor coils may cause a problem! The HA is the only one on the list that says "Solid State", And I don't have much of an idea what that could mean! (except an early version of a controller!) Take a peek, and let us know! (It'll keep me from guessing!) |
