97 Club Car 48V DS Charger's Stopped Coming On shortly after New Batteries Installed

Hi all, thanks for the help:
97 Club Car DS 48v with all new batteries and battery wiring, the charger has stopped coming on. Volt tester shows voltage at all batteries, at charger plug in, and even inside charger when charger cord is connected to cart. Yet charger will not come on anymore. Charger worked for about a week after new batteries were installed then just stopped coming on.
Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Post Battery Voltage for each Battery and for entire pack .

97 48 volt...............if you can try your charger on another cart and if it works replace your OBC..................97 was one of the years they had OBC problems.......let me guess yoiur battery dash light is red?...........again if you can test your charger on another cart or take it somwhere and have it checked ( the charger that is ) and they tell you its ok or it works on another car get yourself a new OBC........................................

Did you replace the cables? Clean the lugs of the new batteries?

What is an OBC? My battery light is on and my charger will not click either when plugged in. Each battery checks out at 8.0 to 8.1.

At 8.0 and 8.1 your batterys are less than 50% charged.
The OBC is the unit that the ground cable runs through that tells the charger when to turn on and when batterys are fully charged to turn off. It is mounted behind the seat and below the body near the motor. Have you checked the cart receptical for good connection and checked the INLINE FUSE from receptical to battery pack?
In my area near the coast we have lots of contact problems with receptical getting corossion because the unit is tipted down and allow water to pool inside when it rains? All or any of the above could cause your problems?

Try resetting the OBC , I'v seen this happen after new battery installiation.

What does the OBC do other than monitor charging levels? tnx/pjs

THe OBC's function is to control the STOCK Club Car charger? When my OBC goes bad next time I will get one of the NEW AUTOMATIC CHARGERS and throw the OBC away? By the way there is one charger company that even gives you a credit for your old OBC?

If you can't test your charger with another cart you could test to see if it's your OBC or other cart issues...

While disconnected from both cart and wall outlet, jump the relay in your charger and if it comes on, (while re-connected to both AC and your cart battery pack,) you'll know it's the OBC giving you problems. Caution doing this since the Charger will not shut off this way and the charger may have a condenser that will literally knock your socks off it you touch it!
