'85 Club Car Died

Cart was running fine until I made a brief stop then it refused to move in either forward or reverse. I can hear the solenoids clicking as I depress the accelerator but it doesn't even try to move. The batteries are fully charged. Where should I start?

are you sure it's the solenoids you hear, and not just a microswitch? Do you have a voltmeter? Put the rear of the cart on stands (so tires are not on ground), and test voltage across the pack, and then test again while pressing the go pedal. If the voltage doesn't drop significantly when pressing the go pedal, check for voltage through solenoids, and at motor. Also check for a broken resistor coil. If you have voltage everywhere including going TO the motor when pressing pedal, your motor is likely toast, or at least in need of brushes. You are able to push the card freely, without a lot of resistance?

Okay this happened to us this year and last. REALLY easy to fix if you had the same problem we did. When you make a sudden stop, some of the older electrical cables probably broke. This stopped the flow of electricity to your motor. Open circuit. So open the lid of your golf cart and look around for any loose wires. if you find one then look for where it probably goes. Then run down to Ace hardware or Tru Value or whatever you have near and buy some battery terminals or whatever type terminal you need. Then you just crimp it back on and call it done.

Any luck? I'm in the same situation? Just got the cart and backed it off the trailer and it took a good bump. It was running fine, now it won't move. I hear it clicking, solenoid I suppose. Voltage across the pack is about 36v, and across then when pedal is depressed 18 or so. I do have voltage at the motor... why 4 connections at the motor? 2 red, one black, on white.. one red appears to be hardwired internally. I can not verify voltage there. Where are the micro switches folks are talking about?

Also, one battery has a loose terminal stud. Can I just replace one battery verses all if needed?
