Default How many amps does a cart draw during charging?

I wanted to know how many amps a golf cart draws during charging. I did some research and found a website that explained that when the charger is first plugged in it draws up to 10 full amps for a few minutes and then drops off to 5 or 6 amps. It also went to explain that the average amount of power consumed is consistent with the following formula:

120 volts x 4 amps x 00hours= xxx watt-hours

Is it safe to assume that a golf cart draws an average of 4 amps per hour while charging?

Are you trying to figure out a question I recently had running thru my head....how much more energy efficient is a golf car over a small fuel efficient car---dollars to mile driven theory. How much does it cost to recharge a cart for 10 hrs. and drive for 35 miles or so.

The cart draws no amps during charging, the charger does however. I pay $.09 where I charge the cart, and $.07 at the other place. These include fuel charges, and transmision charges.

so to charge your cart for
10 hours at an average of 5 amps it would cost at 9 cent a kwh
120 x 5 x 10 = 6000 or 6 Kwh , so 9 x 6 = $.54
and you get an average of 35 miles per charge ,
My 97 CC Gasser is supposed to get 70 MPG at $2.28,
thats still 3 times what the electric cost.
Think Ill keep my electric cart .

Let me ask this, How efficient would it be to have an electric cart and instead of battery's, have a lawnmower engine running a power inverter? Also, how big (wattage) of inverter would it take??

welcome to forum!!!... this has been done before, you haven't discover gunpowder ... You need a pretty BIG inverter, others had done it using the charger... be sure to dig on the forum about this and to visit http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/introductions/

Seriously, it can be done, but I am afraid it will look something like this:
