Default Plum Quick owners, need opinon...

... Specifically looking for a response from folks that have or have had multiple carts and done lots of upgrades.

As some of you may know my 2001 CC DS Regen, has an Admirial High Speed motor, speed is great, torque is not, as expected. I put this in before the Plum Quicks became popular.

I've talked to Steen and had a great conversation about all of the options. My issues is I want to keep my speed and add some torque but not shell out another $450 (would love to have an Alltrax but having a hard time selling the wife on more money).

So the question: if I swapped my admiral high speed motor for a PlumQuick rebuilt 48v motor, do you think I would have the same speed with increased torque, should I send him my admiral and have him rebuild it, or should just quit looking for a cheaper solution and save for an Alltrax?

First of all how fast via GPS will your cart go at this time, normal easy to get to everytime speed?

What size are your tires, 22", 18", etc.?

Need to scope the speed, I am know I am hitting 20+ as I have ran against my car but need to test with a GPS, tires size is stock 18, look at my avatar.

I believe that doing a 48 volt PQ will not give you much more speed or torque with a Regen setup, (that you already have with your Admiral Motor.) If you're getting 20+ then it would be about the same with the PQ. I have a feeling your best bet will be doing the Alltrax and keeping your current motor. I've attached a link to a thread a while back that you might want to go over.

FYI... I love my PQ IQ motor and when my warranty is up I will be putting in the Alltrax as well as 4 gauge wires. It will give me the low and middle torque boost that can't happen with the stock controller.

Let's see what others have to say about your ideas as well...

What warranty is keeping you from upgrading your cart?

Local CC dealer 1 year warranty on Gold Standard Precedent I purchased. I've upgraded my cart with everything else I wanted including getting it ready for LSV approval.

Call PQ and talk to Robbie, tell him what you now have GPS speed and motor.
See what they will Guarentee.
20 mph is pretty good for a DS without tire or controller upgrade.
New #4 cables will add a little (perhaps 1mph) and some more torque.

As I stated in my first post, already talked to PQ, and I already have 4 ga cables, was just looking for opinions from here. Thanks

Well so far your speed looks good with what you have. Did Robby say that you would get more torque with their PQ over the Admiral?
