I HAVE A 1996 ELECTRIC CLUB CAR AND FOR 1 MONTH IT RAN GREAT.NOW IT JUST QUIVERS,THE MOTOR AND DRIVE TRAIN.WHAT DO I DO NEXT? I HAVE BEEN A ELECTRIAN FOR OVER 30 YEARS.

Check ALL your connections and make sure they are clean and tight. Remove one at a time, clean it, and put it right back on where it came off. More than likely a bad connection...either that or the batteries are dead.

Yep sounds like the batts are dead, I had one that did the same thing had to change the batts.

Is the solenoid giving you a strong click? If so, jack the rear wheel up, check battery pack voltage from b+ to b- across the entire pack... then have someone push the pedal down and see what voltage does, if it drops below 40, change batteries, or connections...... (25 volts if you have a 36 volt car) .... if the batteries dont lose voltage, then you may have a internal motor problem, or if you have a v-glide you may have a broken wiper arm.......

You may have a problem with the motor's brushes...My 95 had to have the brushes replaced several years ago..

you can test the motor externally, with a little trouble... you have to remove all the motor terminal wires (carefully, using two wrenches, wd-40 and wire brush).... then with a multimeter test continuity.. there should be continuity between a1, and a2... and continuity between s1, and s2 (or f1, f2)... there should be no continuity between the motor case, and any terminal, and no continuity between the a1/a2 terminals and s1/s2 terminals...

be careful taking nuts off though, as turning them could cause damage...
