Club Car throttle slack
I have an 04 DS. I was looking at the throttle/brake set up it has and noticed that it's almost impossible for it to get full throttle. There are no adjustments to the actual throttle. The linkage to the Mcor is fixed. The slack I noticed is inherent in the design. In other words when the pedal is on the floor (Key off and removed) you can get under there and turn the MCOR shaft quite a bit more with a wrench or lever on it. Maybe this is something you guys have already talked about many times. Anyway I managed to push the MCOR shaft to it's limit while driving it and it made a difference in top speed. It was enough extra speed to walk away from my Yamaha G16 which was dead even up to that point. Anyway have you guys done any throttle mods etc.?

There is a bushing in the pedal shaft before the m core. You can use a piece of clear fuel line to repair the slop.

I think you should test the output of the MCOR before you start messing with it.... May be that it is already putting out the maximum ... In which case?

There is a bushing that gets worn very easily for some reason. I feel that there should be some way to lubricate it on a regular basis? I rigged mine on older cart until I replace my old controller with what you have as stock, which requires replacement of all linkage. Test is by OHM meter connected to 2 leads and range if I remember correctly is 5K-0 ohms through range of travel, starting with 5-K and smoothly going to 0-K at full down pedal.

Thank you Old Mec for the clear and concise answer. Yes, this one has a worn bushing too and it contributes to the slack in the throttle. I need to replace that. Now that you have explained the way the MCOR works I realize that my pushing it a little farther to gain that last bit of power will not hurt it because you can't go beyond "0" ohms. Thanks again. I'm beginning to like this Club Car.

I know this will cause problems for me BUT I LIKE CLUB CAR BEST TOO. The weak points are the OBC, the pedal linkage wear, and the way the charger plug is installed ( tipped back so water runs in not out as it should ) causing major problem in our salt water enriched area of the gilf coast.

Is this also an issue on 07 Precedents?? I swear the last one we sold was not as quick as the rest. I was wondering if there is a bushing on the precedents as well that may go bad. Is it easily fixable, if so I may want to grab cart back and try to fix....it is just down the road.

There must be a bushing on Precedents as well but Im unable to find a break down? THe parts catalog only shows a group, maybe you have to purchase the whole group?? It doesnt make sense but in this day and age of parts changers rather than mechanics anything could be correct?
