I do not have a portable gps, but I can have my wife trail me in a car that has both an extremely accurate speedometer AND a gps. So far, the motor is the difference. When I take off with the stock controller, there is some kind of beeping noise, maybe the controller complaining about too much draw.

I'll work on installing the controller tomorrow and then the #4 cables. The exact position of the controller will determine some of the cable lengths.

Enough for now. The cocktail hour approaches.

I'm really happy. pjs

Ditto

It's the only way to compare before and after. With your tires I believe they're still around 18" tall so a GPS reading of top speed BEFORE the controller and wires would be a great way to see what you got from that new good looking motor!

Just for chuckles, I'll provide top speed before and after the new controller is installed. I'll also measure the speed before and after the #4 cables are hooked up.

After measuring top speeds, I'm sure I'll throttle back. This cart scares me already. A sharp, quick turn would throw my wife off and she is a keeper. I wouldn't want to be trained by another one.

I figured out how to use my car GPS on the cart.

19 mph with stock everything except 10" rear wheels as project began. This speed was measured by portable radar displays our community uses along the roads.

25 mph this morning with D & D 9.1 hp motor, but still with stock controller and cables. Measured by GPS.

Will have new 500 Alltrax 500 amp controller mounted by the end of the day and will post new mph after that. Then work on converting the wires to #4 welding cable.

Thanks for the results so far. I know it would be a bit hard to determine torque differences but maybe even a 0 - ?? in so many seconds before and after the Alltrax install. I wish I did that even before my motor upgrade but to late now...

I am curious about this beeping? When or what started that? I have a rapid beeping problem code(?) on my 03 IQ .....

There are only 3-4 short beeps for me. If I slowly (no fun) accelerate, there are no beeps, but when I peddle to the medal, I do get a few beeps. I am assuming it is the stock controller complaining of overload with the 3X stronger motor.

I might know more when the new controller is installed.
