Default Painting A Club Car

I would like to paint my older club car. The body has a few crack in it and I wanted to know what to use to fix the crack prior to painting. Any ideas?

Is it a plastic or fiberglass body? They made both. I have one of each here. If it's fiberglass, use a grinder to put a V groove in the cracked section, and grind out around the surface from the front and back, and then apply fiberglass resin and cloth to repair the area, then sand it smooth and repaint it. Or, if it's not horrible, grind from the backside, and then smooth out the rough fibers on the top side, and fiberglass it using "kitty hair" (premixed fiberglass resin and fiber/cloth) forcing it to squish THROUGH the crack from the backside, so it builds it up a little. Make sure you spread out quite a bit on the underside to build it up, and add some regular resin/cloth over it to help secure it. Then sand the outside part smooth, use a touch of regular body filler to make it perfect, and then paint it.

If it's a "plastic" cart, you can get a plastic welding kit, or plastic bumper repair materials to fill and repair it. I recommend putting some metal strips on the underside, across the crack to hold it better and add strength. Then sand it smooth and paint it.

Hope that helps.

I will have to find out if it is plastic or fiberglass, I had to admit that I am not sure. It is not cracked all the way through, it just has little surface cracks. Thank you very much for taking the time to give some advise!

If they are very fine cracks in the finish, you could probably just give it a good sanding, and a wet sanding with 800-1000 grit paper, and get rid of all the scratches/cracks, then prime and paint it. If sanding alone doesn't get rid of them, use a little filler, and then sand smooth.
