1985 club car, 36 volt, resister, I do know it is five selonoid, I had 1 new one and i changed them one at a time till i had taken each one out, trying to find the bad one. I had the same result.I would remove one i would test the cart it still would jerk. Could the speed control box cause this that is the only part i have not messed with, I dont know if the contacts are dirty, if it can be cleaned up, or are they through aways. Thank You so much for your help.

Do they all click ?
the 1985 model has a micro switch (5 in all) associated with each solinoid/resistor set.

check these !!

I CHANGED ALL FIVE MICRO'S AND THE SPEED SLIDE WHICH WAS WORN, BUT I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM. I CHECKED ALL WIRES GOING TO SOLINOIDS, THEY ALL CLICK IN ORDER FROM DRIVER SIDE TOO PASSENGER SIDE. i WAS TOLD THE FIRST SOLINOID IS TO ENERGISE, #2 HAS RESISTOR AND SHOULD BE 1ST SPEED AN SO ON AN SO FORTH. BUT NOW INSTEAD OF PUTTING PEDAL TO FLOOR AND WAITING A SECOND BEFORE IT JERKS, THE PEDAL IS VERY TOUCHY THE MINUTE U BARELY TOUCH IT, IT THROWS U BACK IN THE SEAT, I AM AFRAID OF TEARING REAREND OUT OF IT. I AM BAFFLED. DO YOU HAVE ANY OTHER SUGGESTIONS. THANK YOU.

OK so lets go back to the Beginning.

When and why did you replace Batteries ?
When did the Jerking problem start ? just after battery replacement ?
Give us as much history as you can on the cart.

Do you have a Voltmeter ?
Charge Batteries completely then after unplugging wait 30 minutes and post
each Battery reading , ant the voltage across the entire pack .

Don't worrie about the first Solinoid for now if the cart is running then that solinoid is
working.

Ok I Baught The Cart 2yrs Ago, When I Got It The Person I Baught It From Gave Me 2 New Solinoids He Said The Cart Jerked In F & R He Was Told To Change Solinoids. So I Checked Them They Were All Working Fine. Then One Day My Charger Stopped Working. So I Took Charger To Repair Shop, They Called An Said They Charged 4 Carts With It. So I Take My Cart To Them They Tell Me My Motor Is Bad 1,300.00 To Fix It. So I Told Them I Would Fix It Myself. They Put A New Micro Switch In For F & R. So The Cart Has Jerked From Start But Now That I Have Maximum Battery Power It Jerks Bad. Do U Think There Is A Chance Something Is Wrong With The Motor That Could Cause This. Thank You Again For Your Time.

It could be the motor it's really hard to tell at this point .

"Charge Batteries completely then after unplugging wait 30 minutes and post
each Battery reading , and the voltage across the entire pack .

If it is skipping the first speed solinoid or first 2 solinoids it will take off in High speed.
Jack it up on blocks/stands. Slowley depress peddle and note: is speed gets prograssvely
faster with each click (4 speed Solinoids, No wheel turn when #1 clicks.

Post Voltages for batteries and pack !

And BTW you can get a New/Rebuilt motor for $300 not $1300

Cheapest first fix would be to replace the high gear solenoid. It's
the last one on the passenger side. If this solenoid sticks 'ON' the
cart will start out WIDE open. Will do the same thing in reverse.
Your DC motor will not break to the point that it has only one speed.
It gets its power from what the solenoids give it.
