Am I getting a deal?
I just found a '97 electric CLUB CAR with top, windshield, fog lights, crome steering column, after market steering wheel, and charger. He said the batteries are 1yr old, body is a little rough, needs a good cleaning and a few dents and scratches. He said it sat at the lake and doesn't need it any more. It runs and drives. The only thing that I see that needs repair is the emergency brake does not lock. He is asking $900.00.

Re: Am I getting a deal?
Check the date on the batts. Even if ya need batts., it sounds pretty reasonable. Is it 48 volt?

36 volt, I was told if you look at the (-) termanal it has a number on it and that will tell you what year they are. I looked and didn't see a number so I can't tell.

Re: Am I getting a deal?
Not a bad deal for a 36'er if the batts are good. The post of the batt. will have a letter and a #. The letter stands for the month and the # for the year.

Exide, If it had the energizers I would have walked away. my buddy has put those in his club car and has replaced them twice within a year.

Re: Am I getting a deal?
An operational 97 Club car would be worth $900.00. Even a little rough.
If they were one year old trojans, it would be a GREAT deal. I don't know how well exides perform. It's a good price. TROJAN stamps the neg. terminal w/ the date, the others ????? Last edited by tonyton; 06-11-2009 at 10:18 PM.. Reason: date clarification |
