switchable charger...
I was reading about a charger from somewhere that you could switch from 36-48 volts. anyone ever heard of this? and if so, do you remember where you saw it? i was also wondering if this could be used on a club car and an ezgo just by flipping the switch from 36 and 48 volts

Re: switchable charger...
the CC 48v carts have an OBC to control the charger..... it is unlikely that any charger would switch control systems and voltage

Re: switchable charger...
ok well hmmm, if the cart has an aftermarket controller then would it still have the OBC? I dont really need it to charge both an ez go and cc, but more of just the cc and i was trying to figure out a cheaper way of getting a charger without spending 700 bucks

Re: switchable charger...
it would be a 98 cc, its already a 48. ive looked at some used chargers but they are super hard to find in my area and from what ive noticed shipping is pretty pricey

Re: switchable charger...
I'm trying to figure out what you need? So the cart is a 48v CC controller cart and you need a charger? If you buy an aftermarket controller for this cart it will work with the OBC....

Re: switchable charger...
ok, i wasnt sure if the OBC was inside of the stock controller and so when you removed the stock controller you would remove the OBC. but ok, so the OBC is not inside of the controller. also, if the OBC needs to be replaced....you have a price range? aha

Here is the OBC if you need it. Fishing Dude found it for me the other day. I ordered on yesterday.

A Club Car uses an on board computer to regulate your charger to turn on, shut off and equalize your batteries. That’s why their charger and system are proprietary. (One sure way to make the big bucks.) An aftermarket charger with a built in Micro processor can do the same thing without the need of an OBC since it contains one. You could use it on a CC but you would have to slightly modify the cart receptacle plug by just jumping the (-) socket of that receptacle with the last most (-) terminal of your battery pack. As mentioned if you are having issues and your charger is still working but you have a bad OBC you can purchase one for $150 which is a whole lot less than a new charger. If you’re not sure if your charger is working there is also a simply way to determine that as well. If none of this fits with what you are asking then please disregard this post since I’ve had a couple of drinks and I never usually do! |
