Cool I've been challenged!

In three weeks time I will be meeting several friends at Ft. Wilderness. Time is short, my buddy has a 36v 05 EZ GO with BU torque motor and regeared. He runs somewhere b/t 20-22mph, but of course has alot more torque. My bro-in-law has a 05 CC DS gasser that runs 20mph after the gorvernor slows him. I need to tweek out any more speed I can get(not worried about torque right now). My EMP motor gets me solid 21mph, but takes a while to get there. Aside from buying a faster motor from D&D or Plumquick, what are my options. I've been trying to hold off on a major purchase...any economical improvements I can make. Thanks in advance.

Air up the tires and take off the wind shield. That might gain you about 2 MPH, Or just take the entire top off.

No, my cables are 6g. I was waiting until I do a motor/controller upgrade,...I figured cables wouldn't do much.

I know you said you not worried about the torque, but if you upgrade your controller you will reach your 21mph much quicker!!!!

Question Re: I've been challenged!

Ok, tires were a little light...maxed them to 22psi. For the record any challenge will have to appear like ," Oh what you want to see how fast I am...ok let's go, just let me get a beer for the road. So, windshield will stay on. I was able to get to 22mph after a long run, how bad would a shunt be if used properly?
