Hello All, I'm a new member
Hello, new to carting and having some charging issues and hoping someone could answer some questions. I know it late on Sunday but maybe I can get a start on the issue.

Re: Hello All, I'm a new member
Thanks, I am going to read a bit more and try some of the recommendations. My main issue is the charger will not activate. The cart will not move. My daughter just told me she pushed it home a few days ago. I checked the voltage but am somewhat lost by the reading. I have Sperry tester but can't figure out the reading, DC line (brown) reads 146, the green line 3.8. I don't get the normal click from the charger I used at initial start. All quiet no hum either. The batteries are new last year. Cart is a 1995? 48 volt powerdrive system.

Your voltage is to low to let charger turn on. can override the LVS but need to be done in charger. Other option is charge batteries with 12 v charger

Re: Hello All, I'm a new member
Me again, is there a way to get the batteries charged to level the charger will kick on? I have 6 batteries. How does one charge 8 volt batteries? Can I charge as a group? I appreciate any help. Howdy to you folks in Texas. I used to live in Dallas way back when...

Homer would send private message but you don't come up with that option. Click my name and see if you can send me one.
Open your charger, you need to bypass the relay in it. Or charge each battery for 15-20 min with a 12 volt charger. you need a pack voltage above 36v, but may need to be as high as 42v. |

Re: Hello All, I'm a new member
Thanks FD, no luck with finding a private message. Can I charge the whole bank at one time? I noted one side begins series with positive and the other with negative. Do I begin with 10 or 2 amps? If I charge one at a time do I need to disconnect? Thanks for your help. I will figure out how to set up my account better.
