Default 2001 CC help......again!!!!

Ok, yesterday i posted a thread saying i needed help with my cart and i got it!! NOW i need advice or guidance. Scuba helped me out with a past link that someone had posted with the same problem or one simular and it did help!! On that thread i got the number for Lester Electric and contacted George C. (i'm not even going to try to spell or say his last name) in Lincoln Ne. he in turn gave me a number for a guy in Houston, Sol @ Gaurdian. Between the both of them i got the problem solved but now i have a question and it may be a problem too. I replaced the breaker on my charger and i put my cart on the charger yesterday when i got home, around 8:00 p.m.and the breaker did not kick....Yea!!!! so i left it on all night thinking that it would cut off during the night but when i got up this morning it was still on and still charging, is it supposed to charge that long?? I thought it was supposed to cut off at some point!!! It was on there for almost 10 hours!!!

All your help is appreciated!!!!

thank you'

They can stay on for as long as 16 hours. It just depends on the state of charge of your batteries. My PD2 will stay on for 12 hours or so when my pack was at 48.4 which is 50%. Full charge on a 48 volt pack is around 51 volts. Watch it and make sure it doesn't exceed that time frame and you can also test the voltage of your pack while charging. If it's a 48 volt pack then the charger could take it up to 62 volts to help equalize the batteries. Once it turns off the pack voltage will drop to 52 volts then settle down after 24 hours or so to the 51 volts.

Thanks Scuba!! I intended to take it off this morning but was running late so i called my wife and asked her to just unplug it tilli get home this evening. I've always had trouble with the cart going up a steep hill so i'm hoping that this charge will help the problem.
I've got another question, before i put the lift and new bigger tires on the cart it ran smooth now sometimes when you put it in drive( or forward) it shutters, why??

I'm not positive on that but I believe I've read here on BGW that it could be caused by weak batteries, bad connections, etc. among other possibilities. I'd search the forum on that subject and I'm sure you'll get your answer.

What He said , do to main search and search for "shutter".

If you have a volt meter and hydrometer you can elimenate Battery problems first !

Well i got the breaker problem fixed and got a good charge on the cart, i tried it out yesterday when i got home and it didn't shutter, so i'm thinking it may have just been a low battery but now i have another question. There is a light on the dash with a battery symbol on the lens and no matter how long or short of time i leave the cart on the charger the light comes on!! It'll come on every so often then go off, then come back on again, all the time!!
why??

thanks for ya'lls help!!!

So the light is there to warn you that your batteries are getting week , head toward the charger. In most cases when it starts coming on , parking a few minutes will build back
up a surface charge , causing it to go off , untill you apply throttle again.

...etc.

To Test batteries,
Check now before charge.
Then plug charger in leave charger in until it turns its self off (up to 16 hours).

wait 30 minutes after disconnecting charger and get voltage readings again !
