Default Still having issues with precedent

I have '05 precedent. The solenoide will engage and disengage right away. It sometimes will move about 5 feet then die. I took all of the wires off and checked connections it ran like crazy for a while about 1/2 hour. Then the same thing again. We had one weaker battery that a battery expert looked at and suggested to charge it seperately then do an over all charge. we did this, it worked great for a while about 1/2 hour, then back to the same problem. We then had a dealer look at it while delivering some new carts, he replaced the solenoide.... ran great for a while about 1/2 - 3/4 hour. Tried it the next day.....back to the same. It seems to me, every time we do something to disconnect the power supply to the cart, it runs fine for a while.....is this the computer resetting (as will sometimes happen in a car)? As far as we can see, there are no loose or bad connections of any kind....I am down to looking at the MCOR or controller. What directions should I take with this situation? I am in a location where dealers won't make "house calls" and the dealer we talked to said that he doesn't have any luck with the diagnosis computer to determine this kind of problem. I sounds like he would just throw parts at it...which is something I can do myself...I just need to know which part to throw at it first. I am leaning toward the controller, because it seems like it resets when we mess with it....but I am unsure. Any direction would be nice!!

Although I am not an expert the controller does sound suspect. Try lifting the brushes at the motor and puting cardboard between them and the commutator then see if the controller works any better. Sounds like you may have a high current component in the electronics going bad under load. By my thoughts ( as skewed as they may be) it sounds as if a gating diode is failing or loose. Good luck

Thanks for the info....I think I may try to borrow a controller from another '05 precedent and see if that works. Does anyone see a problem with that? Is there anything that could possibly be wrong with the cart that would ruin a controller?

Theres a diode on the 2 small terminals of the solenoid which stops stray current from feeding back and popping the controller. There is also a resistor across the tops of the 2 big studs of the solenoid which is supposed to keep the controller "precharged" and avoid arcing in the solenoid. I think you said you replaced the solenoid, were these items on there???

Just want to let anyone know that the problem in this case was the MCOR. I have definitively diagnosed the problem by borrowing parts from another cart ;) Hope this post can help anyone who comes across it.
