1996 Club Car 48v will not start up
A freinds 96 48 volt club car will not start up. We have good voltage 8.3 at all six batteries and also replaced all battery terminals yesterday. We attempted to jump across the the two large posts on the solenoid but no luck. The solenoid has 48v to both large terminals is this normal? I'm not sure if this is the problem or that's the way the systems designed... Thanks for any help you can provide.

Re: 1996 Club Car 48v will not start up
If there is a resistor across the top of the solenoid as there should be, then yes you will seed 48V on both large terminals. I would check the small wires on the solenoid...see if your even getting a changing voltage when on and off the go pedal...if not you may ahve a bad micro switch someplace....either in throttle if a Vglide type throttle setup, or on the forward/reverse lever. These signal the controller to say its ok to turn on the solenoid and deliver power.
