Hot Cart Motor
My brand new D & D motor gets very hot in normal usage. During a round of golf, it is far too hot to to keep a hand on. Is this normal for cart motors? I never paid attention to the stock motor.
Should I be worried? tnx/pjs |

Re: Hot Cart Motor
140* was hot but I could just barely touch it and not get burned, could leave my hand for a few seconds before "ouch"
160* was so hot I couldnt lay my hand on it at all, could touch but would not be able to lay full palm of hand on motor for any length of time without severe pain. for what its worth |

Re: Hot Cart Motor
http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/extre...g-hot-now.html is a good thread.
I tend to worry a lot. I'll call D & D tomorrow. They are nice people and easy to reach. Temps at yesterday's golf was 98 and and humidity made heat index over 110%. The beer after our round was good. |

Re: Hot Cart Motor
yeah I was under the same impression also, you do have to take the outside ambient temperature into account. on a 95* to 100* day, like here, a motor running 50 to 60 degrees hotter doesn't seem to bad. Thats my assumption and mine hasn't burned up yet and its gotten quite a bit of use over the last few days
