Front Shocks...no travel.
I was going to install some new front shocks on my 95DS, and I noticed the new shocks don't allow any travel. If I remove one of the rubber stoppers I may get an inch. Is this a sign of a worn out front leaf. I could probably add a helper leaf on top of the existing, but I don't want to compromise any stability. When I jack up the cart the front leaf does bend quite a bit from the weight of the rims/tires. Thanks in advance.

Re: Front Shocks...no travel.
If they're that bad, definitely get a new leaf spring! Just an FYI, Club Car front shocks don't really do anything. Roady put his upside down and they help, but in the way they're manufactured to be, they suck. I cut one of the rubber stoppers off mine and it helped out a whole lot.

Re: Front Shocks...no travel.
Thanks NONO,
I have searched high and low for some kind of improvement in front shocks. Every local dealer I spoke to said front/rear shocks are rarely replaced in any of ther mod/experience. Sounds ludacris, a shock absorber yes but, but I'd like a little positive bounce, oh well. I figured I got a 12 year old cart, orig. shocks, so what the hell. Plus, getting them chrome for maybe 4" of "bling". I will mount them upside down. Thank you, what about the helper spring or just buy new/heavy duty front leaf? |

Don't get an HD front leaf, you don't need it and it will make it ride like a Yamaha Drive. Just a new standard duty will do.
