Default best price on 2ga welding cable

I know this has been discussed many times and I searched and searched and can't find what i am looking for or I am too hung over to find it...

But I looking for a reference to pick up some high strand count welding cable. Looked at many sites on the web but they don't always give specs on the strand count. TIA, and excuse my lack of searching ability today.

Go to your local welding supply store and they should have it in stock or can get it and the needed size lugs for you. In my area 20,000 pop there are 3 welding supply stores and one that if I purchase the cable and ends will crimp and solder the lugs for me for free IF I cut cable to size and slip shrink wrap before taking them to shop.

Ok, so looking at cable but don't know much about welding cable specs, so when 2 ga cable says the stranding is 7x92/30 what is that telling me? Is that telling me there are 644 strands that are 30 gauge?

Thanks

7X92X30? I have not seen that before? Maybe its a metric measurement, but again cant give you any info on that cable. Where did you find that cable, and cant supplier tell you stand count? All cable I have seen has strand count on container along with guage of cable and outer covering thickness.
I saw some 2 and 1 guage cable at local Tractor Supply Store but didnt look at strand count, but did check for price in small amounts it was about 4.95 per ft.
SORRY?

Look for welding cable on the internet most places quote the strand count as 7x92/30 ga or whatever the specs are for the particular cable.

I recently built my own 2 gauge cables. I used Flex-A-Prene brand (common) welding cable. It's rated at 600 volts and the cover is Neoprene. Don't know the strand count but it's super flexible and high quality. Got it locally and paid about $1.75 per foot. I've seen it slightly cheaper online but a dollar or 2 is no big deal and I got it when I wanted it. Paid tax but no shipping.
I soldered the solid copper 2 gauge ends. (Crimping and soldering may be optimal but I am confident in the amp capacity of my soldered connections and am not worried about failure of the soldered joint.) I then wrapped the ends with quality electrical tape for a water tight seal. Lastly I covered the tape with shrink tubing to add toughness and prevent the electrical tape from unwrapping. I feel like the electrical tape covered with heat shrink will prevent and intrusion of the dreaded monster corrosion from creeping up the cable. I then cleaned the battery posts to a shiny metal surface, installed the cables, and used stainless steel nuts to hold them down. I constructed all the cables long enough to be routed around the battery cap assemblies. (not over them) This allows easy removal for checking electrolyte levels.
