Default Newbie club car issue need help

OK So I am trying to help out a friend that just bought one of these carts a while back. The problem they say is that as soon as you turn the key and put it in reverse or forward, it takes off. Need to know what I should look at to correct this.

Also, it seems the brakes are hydrolic??? What fluid is needed? The brakes don't work either. Thanks!

OH boy! That is an antique Club Car From the seventies.... I guess DOT3 fluid would be okay... Anybody else got any ideas on that?
Sounds like the throttle is not returning all the way?

Thanks for the input guys. Yeah, I am sure it's something that could be classified as a classic. The only information on it that I got was that they had put fresh batteries in it and at that time it worked fine. Then, the brother in law decided to figure out why the lights didn't work. After that is when it had this problem when it'd take off on its own.

What's the procedure to check the solinoids out? Do I have to remove them or can I meter them while they are on the cart?

OK. I think the take off issue is simply that the wires from the switch are screwed up. I need to find a schematic on whay wires go where. Finally got the cap off of the brake fluid resevior only to find nothing but rust. Wonder if I could retrofit a new one on there?
