excessive heat
My 1991 Club Car has developed excessive heat under the seat below a metal shield that seems to cover some wiring near the motor. Can this be repaired reasonably?

Re: excessive heat
I'll help until the 'electric guru' gets here......
Your 91 CC is a resistor cart ...... It has a series or resistor coils of graduated gauge under a heat shield between the batteries and the motor..... The resistor coils job is to waste amperage which they do by converting the wasted amps to heat and releasing them thru the coils...... your cart will do this most at slow speeds and less the faster you go.....Stop driving so slow. |

Re: excessive heat
the other day the metal on the seat was too hot to touch. I thought it was the motor. It also drained four batteries. The motor was replaced with a 2002 D & D Model 170-003-0002 motor before I bought the cart about 6 months ago. The batteries took a charge though and are working now.

Re: excessive heat
Can you be more specific? THe 4 batteries were drained of voltage. What were their voltages and what was the voltage of the other 2? I am onfused the 6 batteries in a pack act as one there should be equal draw under usage. Are all of the batteries the same age and kind? what condition are your cables in? Can you verify what type of drive system you have in the cart?
