Cart into a door...what shoudl I look for?
Hello,
Very long story short, my son had a friend over who had never driven a golf cart. He drove it into the access door on the side of my garage. Door is cracked and cracked the door frame. I am surprised that there is very little damage to the 94 cart, just a little cosmetic scratches. Is there anything I should look at under the frame to be sure nothing else has happened? I can't believe that the cart would escape fine when I had to replace the door. Thanks for any suggestions. |

The door is wood, the cart is aluminum and steel, what is so hard to believe? :)
What part of the cart hit the door? Front wheel, front bumper, body? Whatever part hit the door, look from there BACK to the frame where that part attaches, to make sure nothing appears bent, or stretched, no loose/bent/broken bolts holding those parts to the frame, no stretched bolt holes, etc.. I'm sure it'll be fine. |

Check the front suspension and frame very closely. It don't take much to bend the frame if you hit just right. Hopefully no serious damage. I assume the kids are okay...

Re: Cart into a door...what shoudl I look for?
Thanks for all of the responses. The body is plastic and from what I can tell the bumper of the cart made the initial contact. The body did pop out of the molding on the side by the back tire but I was able to push it back in.
The kids are OK, and the door has been replaced. Best I can tell looking under the cart is that it is all ok I don't see anything that is bent or stretched. I guess the steel door just took most of the impact. Thanks again. |
