Looking back (OBC stuff)

The hole through the OBC has some type of insulation stuff in it that surrounded the original 6ga cable passing through. Anyone know what that is? Any harm in trimming some of it out to pass the 4ga cable through? Just looks like dense foam to me to keep the original cable from chafing.

I have a 99 Sparkey and there is no insulation in the hole , so I would say no harm.

... and I can't remember if the charger was acting correctly before I did it or not since now it'll go for over 20hrs non-stop if I let it!

Just dont drill into the hard plastic housing !

I had no good info that's why I was fishing! Didn't want to spill the beans too early. Who would have guessed that the direction of the wire passing through the OBC really DOES matter?!!!! After that little incident I figured messing with that foam stuff may be special NASA hubble technology! ARGGGHHHHHH!

When I re-cabled my cart to 4 ga I didn't have any problem sliding the new wire through the obc. The 4 ga wire was a little snug, but went through with no problem.

I am a dumba$$, but i just cut the 6ga and went around it with my 2ga cables. It still charges right , but that damnn idiot light flashes randomly even with a full charge. I can't explain it.

Put the lug on after passing the #4 wire through. I had no problem using the insulated hole in the OBC. There is not enough room to pass the lug through the hole.

The direction does matter, the lug needs to go on after the cable is through. Read dr bobs thread on this, he had a very hard time getting it appart because of the foam stuff.
