Cart "Stutters" in forward and reverse
I've got a 2001 CC Villager 6, which was working fine last night when I left it in the driveway, but this morning is having some weird problem.
When you press the pedal in forward or reverse, the operation solenoid in the rear engages and then immediately disengages, engages, disengages, rinse lather repeat. The cart inches ahead when it's "on", but I didn't want to break anything by actually driving it. It's low on battery, but not that low, but I've towed it to it's charge station in my garage and put it on charge just on the off chance that it's lower than the battery meter (and the OBC) think it is, but I'm not expecting much. Has anyone seen this, and have any hints for what to look for? My local mechanic is on vacation, so debugging it myself will go a long way towards getting it fixed. Thanks in advance for any hints! |

Re: Cart "Stutters" in forward and reverse
Sounds like a bad connection. Pull on all connections, if all are tight, remove each cable from connection and clean. Re assemble. Sounds simple but the root of many problems.
Also check your voltage, each battery, and total pack. Search here on site for voltage tables. WHEN you say voltage is "low but not that low" how do you know? Solenoid requires a certain voltage to engage, so if you have an intermittent voltage spike/reduction could cause your problem. |

Re: Cart "Stutters" in forward and reverse
Spent some more time measuring stuff this evening, and it turns out the computer went south. It's just toggling the yellow wire (Solenoid Enable) continuously. Also, it pays no attention to the charger... I've tried resetting it to no avail, so I guess I need a new computer
Strange that two carts bought at the same time would have computer failures within literally days of one another, but I guess that's Murphy for you. |

I also tried grounding the fuse on the grey(?) wire that controls the charger, and the charger fired up, though it wouldn't charge, so it's definitely the computer. |
