Default 3-12 Volt Or 6 6 Volt

I have a friend who has a 36 volt cart and was told that 3 12 volt batteries is better than the 6-6 volt. I am not sure of the year of the cart but I believe it is a club car. Which will last longer and which one is truly better for the life of the cart and the life of the wires and batteries?

Stick with the 6 volts. They will outlast the 12Volts by far.

There will be a problem charging the 12v with the 6X6 charger . Per previous thread info it will cook the 12V batteries. 6X6 is the better choice

You have been misled, the opposite is true.
Both will work and charge OK but the 6x6v will outlast the 3x12v in run time and life time.
The 6v should last 5-6 years, the 12v you would be lucky if you got 1-2 years out of them.

You may want to run prior threads on the 6X6v vs 3X12V as info reflects charging with the 6v charger would be generating higher temps in the 12v batteries. Ok for short term while getting together $$ for the new 6X6V set of batteries but sounds like you would speed up the demise of the 3x12Vs.

Thanks for the advice. Our friend decided to take it and stay away from the 3 12's.
