Default battery cable meltdown

My mechanic, who moonlights, put new connectors on all my cables a few months ago and three have already burned through. I have bought some heavier duty crimp on connectors but am afraid this is a symptom of a greater problem. Where should I begin looking?

REPLACE THE CABLES COMPLEATLY. Putting new ends on cables only delays this, the corroded cables have more resistance in them.

Replace the cables with at least 4 guage welding cable with HIGH starnd count, and mount new lugs soldered and crimped with shrink tubing to protect from corrosion.

What he said !

Melting cables and battery post , arching anywhere is caused by the heat from bad connections .

And putting new ends on incorrectly will speed up the distruction.

There are alot of good mechanics out there that don't understand there is a difference between a battery cable that takes a burst of amps to start a car and a cable that has continous high amps run through it in a cart.

Don't know how many times I've been asked to look at a cart and see the 12" double end "ford" cables in there burnt to a crisp.
If this is a stock cart just order a replacement set and replace them yourself.
