I may have screwed up by doing it but i haven't had any trouble. Probably not recommeded. It still charges right and everything.

The accepted way to deal with it is to leave the old cable and add the new cable going around.... that way the obc can still work......

how would i hook up the 2 gauge then? surely i wouldnt just hook up the 2 gauge where the 4 gauge hooks up on both sides of the OBC

Whoops! It still shuts the charger off. The old one wouldn't. Guess i should have read a little more first.

make sure you are getting an equivalent strand count on the 2 ga and that it is welding cable both acid and oil resistant Really you don't need it, unless we are going to build a wheelie popping, drag racing machine .... Jus Keep it simple stupid= KISS Use the #4 ......

welllll i have access to a 2 gauge cable set between $60 and $80 so....itll be farely cheap
