Default How much actual ground clearance with 6" lift on Club Car

This lurker ventures forth a new question to the experts: If I do a 6" lift using either All Sports 6" Kit and 23x10.5x12 tires OR Jakes 6" Spindle Lift with 22x11x10 on a Club Car DS, how much actual increase inground clearance will I achieve? I'm more concerned about ground clearance to safely ride over pastures and rough roads than appearance. My thought is that I won't get but about 2" or 3" increased clearance. Am I right? Would a 4" All Sports Lift and 23x10.5x12 tires give me the same actual ground clearance? Thanks for any help.

roundtuit60, you would add the clearance of the lift and half the tire size to your clearance. In othere words, 6" lift with 23" tires would add 8-1/2" more clearance to your stock cart. 4" lift with 23" tires will add 6-1/2" of clearance. I like the Allsports lift vs any spindle lift.

Good luck

Thanks for the quick reply, essness. I guess I am still a little confused about lifts. From what you said, I assume the kits lift the differential as well as the body. Now I think I understand better. In other words, I 'm now a little less ignorant than I was a bit ago.

The only thing that lifts the diff with a straight axle is larger tires which the lifts allow to fit under the body. I think? New to this myself.

Sorry, the lift will give you the 6" at the rocker clerance, the tire size like blaynef13 said will be the only net on the differential. So, you will get 2" on a 22" tire and 2-1/2 on a 23" tire. Generally your not going to drag the differential as the tires are already on the high spot.

Yep BAF is right The lift kit lifts the body and or the frame. The tires lift the differential... So a 23" tire is 5 over stock. Half of that is on the bottom of the hub lifting the differential ...... you guessed it 2.5" of actual improved diff. clearance..... Don't let that fool you...Those tires require a 6" lift kit. That will raise the frame a total of 8.5". You prolly had about 7 to start with so now you have 15" of ground clearance except at the diff it is prolly half of that... A good driver could go about anywhere you might dare to go with that kinda clearance
To answer your second question about a 4" lift..... I think you can run 22" tires on a 4 inch lift... You can do the math

Thanks to all of you. Now it is back to shopping and planning and deciding whether to go with a 4 or 6" lift. I also want it to be right safe for grandchildren! Thanks, folks.

I liked the CC on 4" lift and 20 inch tires..... I went about anywhere the taller carts went and I know they are more stable and less likely to tip over not being so tall..... here is a pic of CC with a 4" lift and 20" tires....

That is the way that I'm leaning. Thanks, again.

You can run 23's on a 4" All Sports lift. I don't recommend it if you are going to use it for heavy off-roading ( tire to fender clearance). The rear axle limits the ground clearance...
