Stumbling through my first lift kit

After replacing the old front end with the new lift,to my surprise the original wheels will not fit(duh).Now that I know about inverted wheels and the possibility of 22in tires,I'm concerned about overwhelming the motor control with the added leverage.Is my thinking valid?

It would help if we knew what kind of a cart and set up you have? Year and voltage? Any modifications besides what you mention? 22 " Tires?

Its an '01 Club Car 48volt.The only modifications are dump bed,20'' nobby tires standard wheels,heavy duty rear springs.I had the curtis controller rebuilt with an upgrade.I ride in mountain pasture land.Need more torque than speed.I'm not experienced in lift kits or larger tires and wheels.Just don't want to create a situation that would toast controllers

Your are thinking correctly.... the controller is the gate valve to the power supply... I have run 20s on a 3 and 4 inch lift CC. Was able to go anywhere anybody else dared to go....... THe controller was rebuilt upgraded? To how many amps? The rebuilders usually only go 10% above stock?

not sure if I can mention the name of the refurb company but they advertised a free 400 amp upgrade when I had mine rebuilt.I changed to larger battery cables when I replaced the controller.My cart is still up on blocks waiting new wheels and tires.The lift kit front spindle measures 6inches.I'm just not sure what wheel/tire combo to buy.Bling not important

Typically you can get up to 23" tires under a 6" lift. I think they are a little on the big side for an electric. 400 amps should allow you to run whatever size you want. I guess it depends on where you are gonna run it? Got mud? Go with an agressive tread. The tight or small pattern treads pack with mud and act as slicks..... who is the controller rebuilder?

Thanks a lot for this info. I'm on the slowest dial-up on earth 28k and surfing is painful. The rebuilder is FSIP. Tall wet grass and 40% hill grade is my terrain.The lift kit was new from a yard sale,Fore-Par mfg.Instructions say its good for 84 and up club car.Is was always getting small sticks wedged underneath,thought the lift would solve that
