Are you sure that the controller and the PB-6 are matched? Because normally, a CC controller would be a 5k-0 controller. U can change to a 0-5K controller but, you have to BE SURE that the pot matches the controller......

AS "SCOTTYB" said have you checked with parts supplier for pot to match controller? If it is same it may be defective because of erratice operation? Contact supplier for solution to problem.

They asked about the wires on the controller and number of them and color when I ordered it.
The model they sent me was the 0-5k model and the box it came in says the same and has the #583 part number for the GE 500 amp 0-5k controller. I`ll look at the controller itself again and see what specs it had printed on it.
I did not replace the V-Glide box at all so it the factory one still but the pedal test showed it being 0-5k correct??

I`m getting so confused with this now LOL but appreciate all the help I have gotten!!

I tested the lines at the controller as you said above pulling the black and white wires off to test them. I put the probes directly into the connectors on these lines to test them
Should I have pulled them at the connections just past the V-Glide where they come out and connect to the wires thay go to harness and micro-switches??

I just want to be sure I`m not screwing up the test.

Which is the wrong one we are looking at ...the V-Glide or the controller?? Want to be sure I don't send back or order a wrong part now

If I did it correct I can post the pic of the 0-5K.

Thanks for answering all the questions. Put me in a car to work on and I`m fine as can be,,,put me in a Electric cart and its all downhill......

When I look at this chart for the reference of the 1204-408 Curtis controller ( Black Box) I removed it states on it that its a 0-5k one also...This is from the D&D website also....gets me even more confused

I have never seen a CLUB CAR V GLIDE put out 0-5K ???? Test should be the same at either end of the wires .... something is not right and Club Car is 5K-0 .... so I don't know how you got 0-5K !? I'm confused and so is your controller All this time I thought you had bought a 0-5K pb-6 and installed a matched pair. YOu MAY have the wrong controller for that cart. Did the salesman ask you what make cart it was going into?

No I didnt get the PB6 and its probably the only part of the cart I didnt replace in this.
They did ask what year cart it was going into as well as the number and color of the wires on the old controller. I ordered all the parts from them and told them what I wanted and they recommended this controller to go with the motor I bought. Like I said its from one of the sponsors here on the site I got it all from. I wanted the new controller to give me better performance with the new motor and more torque.

I just checked the wires again from the controller end and still get 0k at rest and 4.86k when the pedal is depressed. The cart is off and the F/R switch is in neutral.

I`m getting ready to put the old controller on and see if it works with it and if it does the controller IS the issue...
Is it possible that the cart had been changed by someone in the process?? I did also just notice the old Curtis controller has a sticker on the bottom that says Modified so I wonder what that implies....

I put the old controller back in and cart still wont run. Just to see I jumped the two large solenoid terminals like before and the solenoid clicked and the cart ran. Shut the throttle off let it sit and hit the pedal again and no go like before

So its not the controller causing it but something making the solenoid not work right and I noticed the resistor on it gets smoking hot with cart running or not but key on. I mean hot enough you cant touch it.....

Something is not right in the start/run circuit of the cart somewhere allowing the solenoid to engage properly. It didnt work when I swapped the old solenoid in earlier either....
