I thought the whole system was 48 v if you connected wires anywhere in the system.

the batteries are connected in series 6 8v = 48v. for a 12v radio or light install use 2 8v (16v) reduced to 12v?

best way to add lights

They're set up in series, + -,+ -,+ -,
1 batt = 8V
2 batts = 16V
3 batts = 24V
etc...

I had my 12V headlights hooked up to (1) 8V battery for about 2 years,
They were pretty dim, but it worked!
I wouldn't even consiter running 12V lights on 2 batteries (16V)
it'd pop them in no time!

Since... I've had a 16V to 12V reducer, and they're as bright as they should be!
The lights and reducer only work on 2 batteries, and will wear those 2 batteries out before the whole pack,

The 48V to 12V reducer is ideal!

The best way to add lights is lift the cart and add a battery tray with a 12 volt battery to run them. Then, you arent running you cart batteries down.

No offense K...

IMO... a 48V to 12V reducer is cheaper to buy then a battery, AND...
it'll last longer, with less weight and less cooler space taken!!

But, then again, It's rare when I use my headlights... point A, to the camper,
(and in most cases... I can barely see anyway! )
