Hello,

16Vdc reducer is nothing more than an encapsulated wire round resister in series with the lights. The resistance is "calculated" based on the amps rquired for a standard light kit. Any extra accessories changes the voltage supplied and changes the voltage of the cells used for the 16Vdc as far as carts electrical drive system. Use more than lights, get rid of reducer and inctall 48Vdc to 12Vdc converter.

I had same issue as you going down hills. It was driving me crazy. I had tech from local CC dealership bring his "super-duper" handheld to my location and turn off (lowest setting) the regen braking. That with the highspeed download took care of that problem.

With the voltage you were reading between + and chassis, I would suspect the mounting hardware of some accessory making contact with the chassis or corrosion/rust on a terminal strip mounting that is providing a relatively high resistive path to chassis.

I did not want anything to do with the IQ system, but now I don't want a cart without it! I think it is the greatest thing since sliced bread! (still trying to figure-out what was the greatest thing before sliced bread?)

Just my 2-cents worth....

SO you have 1 IQ cart that you like? I have talked with people who bought 10 or 12 end of lease carts and they had nothing but trouble with the lot of them.... It is a way too complicated system to be a practicle application for a simple golf cart in my opinion. Personally if I ever get shed of this cart .... I will never buy another one.. Glad you are enjoying yours. Are you interested in buying another?

Hello,

The difference is that I have not owned any other cart other than IQ. I don't want to either, I'm scared I would realize the real pains I went through at first were not really worth it! Appears I will be purchasing another one locally for project. Anyway, I hope you find the problem is not major and you get it as you would want it, either to use or sell! Have a great weekend!

PS: Perhaps having the IQ is like being a scotch drinker (which I am), it takes a while to aquire a taste for it!
