Default Stock motor in a 93 cc

Is it safe to use a 500 amp controler with a stock motor?

Yes, the motor only uses the current that it requires to run. Upgrading cables and providing more voltage (36V vs 48V, 72V, etc.) allows you to provide more power to the motor. There are still limitations to the stock motor's draw.

Well, more voltage = more power available. However, for a 1993 CC, 48 volts with the stock 36 Volt motor, upgraded cables, a controller, a H/D F/R Switch and H/D Solenoid would give you a big jump in performance. You would also need a 48 volt charger as well. This upgrade is well documented on this forum.

These upgrades don't come cheap, and you have to be able to do the work yourself.

I have been looking in to it, the cart I have has only a motor and a on off key switch(no charger). I want to use the stock motor for now and buy every thing I would need to upgrade the motor later.
