Solenoid problem

I am having a problem with my 5th solenoid. I have replaced it, replaced the microswitch and rewired both of them. I still am not getting any power to them. I even swapped both items to a different circuit, and they both worked.
Could the coils be breaking the circuit?

so at the small contacts on #5 you have no control voltage ?

I am baffled. I think the answer to your question is yes. I get a reading when I place a meter on the posts of the solenoid, when the switch is engaged.. I have been able to test all solenoids and switches without the coils in place. i can go down the row nad get the switch to kick in the solenoid until i get to #5. even when I swithc up the wiring i.e. move #4 to #5 and can not get the solenoid to fire at that position.
I have a 6 guage wire that runs from #5 solenoid to the F/R switch. If the the terminal on the F/R switch is bad would this be breaking the circuit?

See the pic and maybe you can tell if what is missing.

Solenoid #1 - green wire to microswitch #1, 6 gauge cable to motor, yellow wire on pos. post to F/R switch
Solenoid #2 - red wire to MS #2, blue wire pos. loop
Solenoid #3 - white wire to MS #3, blue wire pos. loop
Solenoid #4 - blue wire to MS #4, blue wire pos. loop
Solenoid #5 - black wire to MS #5, 6 guage cable to F/R switch

When I put a meter on solenoid 5 and press the MS I get 38.2 volts but the solenoid does not click. I have flipped the solenoids and all work when not on #5 circuit.

The small connectors (wiring is what causes the solenoid to fire/close).
So before each solenoid closes the switch should close applying a control Voltage to the Solenoid , which pulls the solenoid closed .

Is the control Voltage making it to the switch ? it should be the same amount and polarity as the voltage to the #4 switch.
And the Large LUG on the Solenoid should have a Voltage just on one side until the switch closes !

If you have control Voltage on 1 leg of the switch and not the other after it closes it is the switch.
If it does not make it from the switch to the Solenoid it is a bad wire.
If it does make it to the Solenoid but the Solenoids does not fire it is the Solenoid.

ScottyB is the 36Volt resistor specialist here perhaps he can ADD something !

DOn't get frustrated, you're close! So you put a known good solenoid in the #5 hole and it didn't click? Check the activation circuit. Is it a black wire going back to MS#5? is there power in and out of MS#5 when activated?

Yes the solenoid fires. Tested it on 2 other circuits. I have also checked the wiring and I am positive it is good.

I have to pull the dumb card here and ask what is the activaion circuit? I have one wire coming from the microswitch going to the neg post. I have the loop wire connected to the pos post that loops to the other 4 solenoids?
How do I check powe rin and out?

The solenoid requires a simple pos and neg present at the small posts to activate.... that is the activation circuit.... you are missing either the pos or the neg. Simple as that.

Its not a solenoid issue, it is a resistor coil contact issue with the buss bar and/or solenoid. Remove the coil, clean up the contact at the coil ( I use a wire wheel) and reinstall.
