98 OBC in a 97 PD+
OK,
I thought I finally found a true 97 PD+ OBC, but when it arrived today it was just like all the rest (a 98 OBC) I'm going to take this as a sign that I'll never actually see a true working 97 computer and adapt what I have. Most of the wires appear to have a direct counterpart except that there is a blue and a white wire that I cannot account for. Comparing the two wiring diagrams side by side...In a 98 the blue wire ties to a hub that connects to the center pin of the fwd/rev switch along with several points. The white wire also ties to a hub, but this one also ties to the tow/run switch (don't have one of those either) and the ignition key switch. I think that I can simulate the white wire by just tying it to the ignition, but I don't know how the two run switch reacts. Will it apply 48V when it is in the tow position or in the run poosition. I see that the ignition connection will apply 48V once the accelorator is pressed. The other wire has me a little stumped. There are so many other wires attached to the hub that I'm unsure what it's looking for. Maybe I'm just over thinking the whole thing.. Help...Anyone. (I've included both wiring diagrams for reference. 98 CC Wiring.jpg97 CC PD+ R1 WIRINGl.jpg |
