Default Speed up 04 club car 48V IQ

I know there is limited stuff for the IQ but need some suggestions on the motor. Is it possible to get this cart to the mid to high 30's mph? I need motor ideas they seem limited out there. I know I can up grade the controller for low end torque so lets say 500amp programmable controller heavy duty solenoid HD F/R switch, gears? any ideas 6.1 8.1 ?? Have I got a shot here or am I trying to swim upstream.. Thanks for any Ideas you guys can give me. This is my first post to what seems to be a truly great site, so any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated..

Thanks Again

Normally when you gain speed you loose torque.
To improve both then you will need to go with the Best ,
Dint forget to upgrade all #6 cables to at least #4 high grade Welding Cables
Check out this chart , for some Ideas.

Thanks for the reply I do understand the need for the upgraded cables. I need someone to lay some motor options that will work with the IQ system. Seems very limited motors for the 48V IQ system. Admiral has the A2 motor that they are telling me is my best option for the IQ system. Short of finding the HP rating which is 9HP I cannot find the RPM rating for the motor, anyone out there know the RPM's of this motor.. Thanks again for the reply..

BigRed-

I have the same cart as you, an 04 CC IQ. I recently purchased a Plum Quick motor from Steen Products out of South Carolina. They dont sponsor this site, so some of the guys will try to steer you away from them for that reason, but there are also alot of guys here running their products.

scubabud is a user here who runs their motor on his cart. He can give you more specific electrical engineering dynamics than I can. You might PM him with questions. He's a good resource. So is Oxford Lawn.

My 04 CC IQ has a 6" lift, and 23" tires. I was able to avg about 16-17 mph with everything stock. On a slight decline I could hit 18-19 mph. After I installed the motor, I can maintain and avg speed of 22-23 on pavement, and on a slight decline I can hit 27-28. It also disables the regen braking features of the stock setup, which is nice.

Besides my motor, everything else is stock. If you were to add 4g cables, a 400-500 amp controller, and an HD solenoid, I'm sure you could get much better performance than I am getting right now. (Those things are all curently on my wish list.) I will say that I am still lacking in torque a little bit, but like I said, you upgrade the rest, I think you will be happy with the torque and top speed.
