Default How can you determine run time on batteries?

Is there a formula to determine the run time on a new set of batteries on Club Car DS 48 Volt? I would like to have a rough idea of how long the cart will run before it dies and I have to push it back.

The way I figured mine out was to take along a voltmeter clipped on the full battery pack and go drive and bring along a GPS. monitor how far you have driven as opposed to the state of battery charge left. Use the charge table in the link I will post..I went to 80% charge and checked the mileage,,then I figured I could safely double that distance and have no worries with a bit to spare just in case Its crude but it worked.

REMEMBER NOT TO RUN YOUR BATTERIES BELOW THE 50% DISCHARGE RANGE.

That will work. I had hoped there might be a formula for amps used at WOT, and amp hours in battery. I admit I know nothing of what I speak here! I will try your method and see what that does for me. I want to take the cart to a game management area and the trail is 10 miles round trip. Thought I had better figure if it will make it before I try it.

oxfordlawn is giving you good advise. I would do what he suggests just to make sure but 10 miles should not be a problem unless you have another problem.

Be sure to follow proper breakin proceedures for new batteries. Failure to do so will shorten useful battery life.

Just for your info...I have 23" tires and an oversized motor(power hungry)...and I am able to do about 25 miles easily safely and be above the 50% discharge voltage. This is on mostly flat and paved roads though and running almost constantly at full speed

Thanks, folks. I have a feeling I could easily make the trip but I am going to follow OL's suggestion to measure it first. My batteries are not new so I would rather measure once rather than walk twice!
