Default battery question

I have a 1995 upgraded to a 48 volt 2006 CC i use for hunting i just replace my trojan t 875 to trojan t 890 for the little more run time because i needed it . one of the batteries when i got them out of the six had 8.15 volts in it and the others had 8.51 and up they are B 9 so i take that they are Feb. batteries he told me that was the freshest he could get.. i figured that battery could have been in a different climate and it dis charged quicker. i paid 122 a piece which i price them and that was very well for were i live. The guy said he would replace it if it give me troublle so here i am on day two with batteries and i only went about a half of a mile and came back to charge and it been charging four or five hours is that normal.. i dont want to fry my other batteries i put a volt meter on the so called weaker battery on 5th hour and it was charging at 9.70 and the others was a little over ten volts.. and info on new battery in stall will be great thanks in advance

Your battery pack is unbalanced. Take out the weak battery & charge it with an 8-volt charger. When it reads with the rest of the pack place it back in & charge the pack until the charger shuts off.

For future reference, I would try to get fresher batteries. I'm sure yours will be ok but 6 months is usually considered the limit before batteries should be installed.

I will tell you how I do mine. You will hear different ways from different guys.
Always charge new batteries before using them. Then I run them down 30-35% Then recharge. I do this around 40 to 50 times. Never run them Pass 50% until they are broken in. And get good charger. Delta Q. Well worth the money. They are thought of highly throughout the industry.
