Hey Ox , thinking again Huh, with electrolysis the parts must also be submerged while the current is passing through

Sorta or exactly like the plates of a battery

Full auto wil be ok.....With some chargers theres a problem that can arise though. If the power somehow is cut off long enough and the relay in the charger is on it will kill the batts. Most, if not all those relays operate off of the carts power. GFI's can trip, power strips....gotta be sure it has power all the time.

Yes the charger is designed to be Fully Automatic when used in conjunction
with a cart which has a OBC (on Board Computer).

Roady's point is that everything must work according to plan for the charger to work,
Batteries must be good, have distilled water up to service levels, no home breakers trip
, facility temperature > 32% F., ...etc.
So it needs to be setup and tested (sorta)
I leave mine for a couple months at a time and no problems to date (knock Wood)

Read this thread for a description of the job of the OBC.
How does 48V 2001 Club Cart OBC function?
Note there are several different versions of the OBC but all are designed to talk to the Power Drive Series battery chargers .

Not true, if you have a PowerDrive charger with functioning OBC it will shut itself
off after 16 hours regardless of battery condition.

The bad news is it will come back on in 15 Days and do the same thing
again , and again ... etc. until the batteries are less than 36 Volts , which then causes the OBC to stop the charger.

This is why you need to check everything ahead of time ,
water levels , breaker , OBC ...etc
