Default frame ground on a electric IR club car??

hey guys, just a quick question for you while i work on a neighbours cart, i'm running some lights on the neighbours club car, and i was wondering if i can use the frame as a ground for the lights or do i have to run a ground wire from a - batt post? (like on my g9) thanks

Always ground to the battery on electric carts. That's what they told me...

Tony is right, never never, ground to the frame on an electric cart.... There are some expensive components which are not fused and should they become accidently grounded they will fry on your ground circuit.

just wondering...do any cart manufacturers use frame grounds?? Is this for an electrical current/corrosion reason(I forget the term...electrolysis??) .

I think it depends on the charger and if it has a float mode. I think some charges will come on and turn off as needed. What brand charger is it?

Cheers
