After a day and a half of use I can say I love it and should have done this sooner. The acceleration is smooth as glass all the way through the range. My battery life seems to probably have been at least doubled. Drove the thing for about 10 miles total today and still at 90% charge(50.4V). Reverse does suck though It just wants to take off in reverse for some reason. I have learned to release the parkl brake and then turn on the key, because if the keys on, and in reverse....by the time the park brake releases, the thing shoots backwards crazy fast...just something to get used to, I dont get it!?!?...release brake and then turn on key Overall...its great and it did help tremendously with the battery life

Are you sayin it takes off by itself in reverse or when you hit the pedal it takes off fast? You now have full power in reverse not half. That full power in reverse is the only thing i don't like about my conversion on my 90. If it takes off by itself in reverse some adjustments are needed on the acc pedal. If you come up with a way to cut the reverse down to half please let me know.

No its not taking off by itself...when I hit the pedal, it takes off fast...reverse just seems to have a quicker "pull" than the forward "push". Its all working correctly, I also just read the other day in some other post how reverse seemed stronger on the initial "go" due to ???? I forget the explanation...but it was considered normal due to physics of pulling vs. pushing.

MY 90 does the same thing, takes some getting used to. Alltrax controllers have a half speed reverse setting i read somewhere.

If you have the lever type f/r as I do...not the toggle switch type, theres no way for the controller to know or care if you are in forward or reverse. The newer type with the toggle switch for f/r I could see being programmed for 1/2 reverse because the controller takes care of the power reversing circuits.

Hey Ox,

Mine does the same thing, it seems to accelerate quicker in reverse then in forward. I am not sure why other then maybe it is easier to pull then push??? Let me know if find anything out.

Oxfordlawn- are you still using the standard F&R switch? If so some models ( not sure if it applys to your cart? ) but are wired to center of pack for reverse to keep speed down?
Could this be wired wrong and giving full, voltage in reverse but not in forward? Just a thought?

Old Mec,

The issue we are having is not the speed, it seems to accelerate faster in reverse then it does in forward. In forward it is a smooth accel, but in reverse it has a little more torque it seems.

Thanks for the input...yes I am using the stock f/r type switch for now..waiting for my dual solenoid setup to arrive and am getting rid of that thing, and going to dash switch and full contactor control for forwardd and reverse. But thats not the issue at hand...its just a quirky nature of the beast for some reason. I have way more go(torque) in reverse and it makes it hard to back out of tight spaces smoothly...some Newtonian Einsteinian theorem of which is easier..pulling a wagon or pushing a wagon?? My cart confirms..pulling a wagon!
