Post Headlights installed... need reducer.

I just got my new set of headlights today and have already installed them. I have a 48v club car and need a voltage reducer. I want one that will reduce all 48v down to 12v instead of 16v to 12v so it uses the entire battery pack. If you know where I may be able to buy one, new or used as long as it works, that would be great. Thanks in advance.

find the nearest/convenient for you, most of them carry that reducer!

There's an alternative to using a voltage reducer. Assuming you have two identical 12v headlights. You can run them off three 8v batteries without a reducer. Here's how. Hook the fused power wire to the 3rd positive battery post and run it through a switch and then to one of the right headlight wires. Connect the other right headlight wire to one of the wires from the left headlight. Connect the remaining left headlight wire to the ground of the first battery. This configuration hooks the two 12v bulbs in a series and allows them to run at normal 12v brightness on 24 volts from three of your 8v batteries.
The lights can't be the type that uses a frame or housing ground. They need two wires for a single beam. As far as using the whole battery pack goes....well I suppose if you use your headlights a ton it might make a difference. I use my lights a few minutes at a
time and it makes no difference. Rotating the batteries occasionally will alleviate any worries about unequal charging. I installed two cool looking Halogen 50w headlights today from Wal Mart for a total cost of around $15. The kit includes two nice Halogen headlights with mounts, switch, fuse holder, connectors, and plenty of wire. Hooking them in a series requires a couple extra crimp connectors. The headlights work great, have an excellent wide beam pattern, and use little current.
