Default club car regen speed controller upgrade

if i put a 300 amp speed controller in a club car regen cart with a regen motor...will there be regen braking or not? and would i have to change anything but the cables... thanks for any help

Yes but only if you put a controller in that supports the regen braking.

Look at this chart <- click here

Third line down, any of the AllTrax DCX_00PDPlus controllers are designed for the Regen system.

But the good news is with the programmable controllers you can turn it off !

alright thanks...so i can't use a 300 amp curtis speed controller for a series cart on a regen? and if not are they any curtis regen controllers?

NO!!! you can NOT use a series controller in a cart that has regen braking. If you have the three little wires coming out of the back of the motor(speed sensor)...which you have mentioned having already...you can not use a series type motor controller!
