99 club car 48 needs speed
Ok so i know how forums work and you guys are going to be mad at me and say I didnt search but I really did. When I search I just cant find and understand exactly what I need.
I have posted before that I have a 99 club car 48v that I am rebuilding. So far I have found out that my batteries are a litte old but are still good.I upgraded the wires to 4ga and now have got the cart going about 10 mph. I really want it to faster but dont know where to start. I dont really have a ton of money to spend but am willing to spend if its worth it. What should I do? What exactly do i need? Are there part #'s or a certain website to visit? I live in the Tampa FL area is there any place near by or any one with extra parts? |

Re: 99 club car 48 needs speed
Were there programmable IQ type carts in 99 ?? 10 MPH sounds really slow..does this sound normal to anyone?? I thought in 99 they only had series type and if thats the case, again 10 mph doesnt sound right

You definately checked your batteries as a pack and also individually??...speeds that slow would lead me to think you have a problem somewhere, and since the cart is moving, I would think you have one or more bad batteries.

I agree, lets get a reading on those batteries! also what year are they? look in the post and give us a letter - number.
I just spent a lot of $ on a motor & it turned out to batteries. |

Re: 99 club car 48 needs speed
well I checked that whole battery pack after charge and it was at 52v and the individual batteries readings have 3 at 8.85 and 3 @ 8.9.
After driving for about 15 mins that dropped to 48v and the individual has 3 @ 8.75 and 3 @ 8.85 and it seems like it is every other battery with the different reading. How fast should this cart be going? |

Re: 99 club car 48 needs speed
A ? about your speed ,
Is this from a GPS reading or a WAG. And remember when checking Voltage , charge until charger stops, wait 30 Min. Then check. Also check across entire pack, this gets all Batteries + Cables. |

Re: 99 club car 48 needs speed
OK more speed = more money, upgrade motor $300
Upgrade controller = $400 Bigger tires and wheels $200-400 Heavy Duty Soliniod = $50-75 U are now doing 20-25 MPH = $+1000.00 |
