Default Charger won't cut off Automatically

I've got a mid 80's Culb Car and The charger dosen't seem to cut off Automatically.

I have checked all the batteries and connections and according to the state of charge chart the batteries are at 100% (6.35) after setting an hour.

The charger makes a loud buzz when plugged in and after about an hour of being hooked to the Cart the batteries get hot and begin to smell.

Is there something in the charger that could have went bad that I can check or replace?

Or am I just up the creek without a paddle?

Any Advice or wisdom would be Great!

I posted some pictures of the charger if it helps

SOme buzz, some heat, and some smell is normal. Is the water level correct in the batteries? Most charge cycles last from 4 - 12 hours depending upon the condition of the batteries....

My 01 CC charger would run up to 14 hrs toward the end of my 8 yr old trojans lives!
With new batteries it runs about 3!
